Time Well Spent
A typical headshot session usually takes up to 30 minutes, depending on your comfort level in front of the camera. We'll capture a variety of shots, typically ranging from 30 to 90 pictures, to ensure we find the one that truly encapsulates your essence. Don't be surprised if you feel like there are "a lot" of pictures being taken – it's all part of the process.
Dress for Success
Select a shirt or jacket that not only makes you look good but also reflects your character and personality. Avoid clothing with pinstripes, herringbone, checkers, or similar patterns, as they can create a visually unattractive effect known as moiré, which can be challenging to retouch effectively. Solid colors are your best bet, but steer clear of plain white unless you layer it with a jacket of a different color. Solid white doesn't photograph as well as colors. And while you're at it, make sure your shirt or top isn't too wrinkled.
Keep Your Cool
Avoid any last-minute rushing or excessive sweating at least 30 minutes before the shoot. Sweating can create a "shine" effect on your face and forehead, which is best avoided.
Clear Vision
If you wear glasses, ensure they're thoroughly cleaned before the shoot. If you have the option, consider wearing contact lenses. Clean, clear lenses can make a significant difference.
Glam Up!
Ladies, when it comes to wardrobe choice, a collar or something close to the neck, like a necklace, works well. Arrive "camera ready" with the makeup you usually prefer, so you feel confident and look like your authentic self.
Keep It Clean
For gentlemen, if you want to appear clean-shaven in your pictures, it's a good idea to shave the morning of the session. It's quite a challenge to transform a face with growing hair into one without.
