Meet the Photographer
-
My name is Chris Blossom
—
Photography captured my attention when I was very young, holding my mother’s heavy steel Nikon F2. I loved to push that button, hear and feel the metallic click that would freeze the moment forever.—
Whether delivering the perfect image for my subject, or shooting on a whim, time behind the lens gives my brain space to slow down and flow. It’s a bit like cruising down a smooth, winding road with no one else on it.. pure focus.
—
Lighting conditions don’t limit me. Be it chasing the first light atop a mountain peak or fine-tuning a studio setup for headshots. I work with what’s available to bring my vision to life.
—
My love for photography isn’t just about capturing images—it’s about the journey to get there. It’s the grind of the uphill climb, the burn in my legs as I push toward a ridge-line, knowing the reward will be a perspective few get to witness. It’s navigating unpredictable terrain, adapting to shifting light, and embracing the elements—wind whipping across an exposed summit, the crisp silence of fresh snowfall, or the golden haze of dust kicked up on a desert trail. Every adventure fuels my creativity, pushing me to think beyond the obvious shot and immerse myself fully in the environment. Setting up for a meticulously planned landscape, shooting a high-speed action sequence, or capturing the raw, unscripted moments in between, photography is my way of connecting with the world.
-
The passion I feel is deeply tied to the outdoors—pushing my limits to reach remote locations and using whatever tools I have to craft the perfect shot. There’s nothing like summiting a peak, boot-packing through fresh powder knowing the descent will be unforgettable, or strapping my camera to my backpack strap and bombing down a singletrack, always in pursuit of that one perfect frame.
-
I’m drawn to documenting moments above all else—the subtle, fleeting flashes of significance that might otherwise go unnoticed. Capturing the energy of a once-in-a-lifetime event, freezing an instant of raw emotion, or elevating something seemingly ordinary into something unforgettable—that’s what drives me. The joy of a wedding day, the quiet intensity of an athlete in motion, or the unspoken connection between two people. My focus is always on the feeling behind the frame.
—
Action and outdoor photography are where I feel most at home. There’s something special about immersing myself in the vastness of nature, finding ways to integrate my subjects into landscapes that tell a bigger story. The outdoors never fails to amaze me—the way light shifts across a mountainside at sunrise, how mist settles in a valley, or the contrast of a lone figure against an endless horizon. These moments remind me why I do what I do, and why I keep chasing that elusive feeling of a perfect capture.
—
I also love working with brands to craft images that align with their vision and values. Every company has a story, and I take pride in translating that into visuals that resonate—whether it’s showcasing gear in its natural element, capturing an experience that speaks to their audience, or finding the perfect setting to reflect their identity.
—
And then there’s love—documenting it in any setting is incredible, but the outdoors is where it feels the most powerful. There’s something magical about hiking to a remote peak to witness two people commit their lives to each other, with nothing but the mountains as their witness. Or leading a couple to a hidden-away overlook, one that only I know about, because I’ve scouted every inch of the landscape to find that perfect, intimate backdrop. These are the kinds of stories I live to capture—real, unfiltered, and deeply connected to the world around us.
